Christmas maths that makes students think hard. The Christmas Maths Activity Bank has 19 open-ended, low floor, high ceiling activities for Years 3–6 HPGE students, so every student can start, but nobody runs out of challenge.
Students explore the 12 Days of Christmas and discover a rule for any number of days. They work out which shop offers the best deal, calculate the chance that nobody draws their own name in Secret Santa, decide whether a reindeer race is fair and design the best box for wrapping a gift. Each activity has a Stretch prompt and is linked to one of four thinking domains: Deep Library, Idea Forge, Knowledge Garden or Mind Observatory.
